The Friends of the Pepperpot formed in January 2010. Here is our first annual report.
Our broad objectives include:
To seek to preserve and conserve the Pepperpot
To enable the Pepperpot to have a positive impact/effect on the local community
To work with and to lobby the Council to ensure the ongoing management and upkeep of the Pepperpot
To work closely with and encourage the support of the community
To seek to identify and support new uses for the Pepperpot, whilst respecting the heritage and local historical value of the building.
To seek partnerships which may enable funding or investment in support of these objectives. This may include pursuing community ownership of the Pepperpot managed by the group or a similar community agency.
To carry out fundraising initiatives to secure funds in support of these objectives
and we need your help...
Are you interested in historical research, community events, buildings construction or architecture, fundraising, community arts, gardening and green landscaping or anything else which might be helpful — and would you like to help?
The Friends of the Pepperpot hold regular meetings and try to arrange for guest speakers to focus on aspects of our work at each meeting. We currently meet at Workshops for the Imagination on Islingword Road - many thanks to Alex Sutton Vane for his continued support.
All are welcome to attend - for dates and details please contact us by email, or visit our Facebook group.
